The Internal Audit Department is an independent appraisal activity within Meharry Medical College for the comprehensive review of operations as a service to management. The Internal Audit staff does not direct but “audits” the condition and performance of operations and controls for all levels of management; helps management know how well its controls, policies, and procedures are working; and suggests solutions where there are deficiencies.

This web site is designed to provide information concerning the function of the Internal Audit Department, the audit process, the roles of the auditee’s and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Trustees in the success of an internal audit function. In addition, we are providing members of the academic and administrative communities’ educational information and guidance concerning internal controls and business ethics.
