In keeping with the college’s unique mission, which includes achieving distinction in health professions training, research and the delivery of expert, patient centered, culturally competent health care. The Department of Pathology, is committed to the delivery of the highest quality of patient care by rendering excellent state of the art and world standard pathological services, innovative teaching that integrates basic biological science and clinical medicine. In addition we are committed to conducting independent and collaborative basic science and clinical research that fosters improved health outcomes and the elimination of health disparities.
We envision achieving national recognition as a focused, quality-driven department that provides innovative state of the art and diagnostic test based on the most up-to-date scientific literature. We for see this department on the forefront in the provision of excellence in pathology services that exceeds local, state, regional and national standards as well as preeminence in basic and clinical research that focuses on health disparities nationwide.

The Department of Pathology is committed to being a leader in patient care, education and scholarship by providing premiere clinical service, excellence in education to the next generation of healthcare providers and biomedical scientists, creative research for a better understanding of human diseases. We are devoted to creating and maintaining an environment that fosters faculty and employee growth and development, and which engenders employee contributions in order to reach these goals.
