Office of General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) oversees all legal and regulatory matters that impact Meharry Medical College. With a strong emphasis on reducing risk, it provides advice and representation to the College, its affiliated entities, and its trustees, officers, employees and students while acting on the College’s behalf.

College policy requires OGC review and approval of all legal and regulatory issues before any action is taken on the College's behalf, including, but not limited to, contracts, real estate transactions, litigation, visa applications, release of College documents or records, and responses to subpoenas or governmental inquiries or investigations.

The OGC is organized into three sections: General Counsel/Corporate Secretary, Compliance, and Legal Affairs.  The boxes below outline the different functions of each. Click on a box to link to the appropriate section's webpage.
